Silmo, will took place this year from the 23rd to the 26th of September in at Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, one of the most important international optical fairs where will be present as exhibitor in the main ally of Hall 6, booth F56.
On the occasion of this new Silmo edition and in the continuity of new products launched in Milan and New York in March 2010, new creations by David Beddok (designer, optician et co leader of the Turtle) will be introduced. “Interview with the new exhibitors at IOFT 2009”

IOFT 2009 welcomed many overseas exhibitors which newly entered Japanese market, OKO EYEWEAR was one of the successfull exhibitors; Chiharu from IOFT Show Management. in charge of international PR activities interviewed David Beddock, the designer of OKO EYEWEAR.

Chiharu: “Thank you very much for exhibiting IOFT 2009, and sharing the story with us. I heard you had great outcomes at IOFT. Congratulations ! Well, I am very curious about your purpose of exhibiting in IOFT. Could you briefly explain about it ?”

small_david_oko_silmo-2007-0501David:  “We have always been very interested in Japanese market and Japan in general personally and professionally. I think that there are a lot of things in common between and Japan. It is like an art of life we share. I admire Japanese sense of quality and aesthetics. The main purposes of exhibiting at IOFT were market research and finding a distributor with whom we can share our work and the philosophy with Japanese.”

Chiharu: “How was your overall feeling about IOFT 2009 ? How was your experience ?”

David: “I was very impressed by IOFT in general, and I would say it is the best trade show I ever saw Show management did great organization, and lovely staffs were always available to help us. They helped us to prepare our participation from the beginning of this adventure, and gave us all their support during the exhibition. We have been honored by the visit of high level opticians, and made very important contacts for us from Japan and other countries in Asia, even Australian contacts ! In terms of the balance from this first participation, it has been very good, and we have really enjoyed the experience.”

Chiharu: “That’s awesome!! I am glad to hear that! We are proud to provide high quality and delicate service to any exhibitors to sucess at IOFT.”

David: “Ok…You cannot miss IOFT. It is a good place to be and necessary to any eyewear company. I recommend this experience to everybody. See you next year in Tokyo !”

Chiharu: “It is such a strong and supportive comment for us. Thank you very much David !! I hope to see you again at IOFT 2010 !”

Oko’s 10 years anniversary

If you attended 2009’s edition, you may have heard champaing’s familiar sound around. More precisely, justby Oko’s booth.

Nothing special: we just had our 10 years anniversary. 10 years of design, , creation, by France more talentuous eyewear designers.

Oko by Oko

The story began after a crazy bet. At the beginning, these three friends, opticians, create , which means eye in Slavonic language, as an eyewear distribution company for high quality Japanese collections. Then, as a challenge, they decide to design and market their own collection « by », entirely imagined, conceived and designed by « them », for a better reflect of current trends, while offering a good work and different colors.
Thus by was born in 1999.

Oko Eyewear, Les createurs de lunettes

by was born from a little crazy bet. 8 years ago, three friends, opticians, by the taste of challenge, get into the creation of this brand and their collections.

The brand choose and old and authentic neighborhood in the heart of ; « Le Marais ». A typical place in where many eyewear manufacturers and glassmakers are still installed.

Passionate by fashion and eyewear, they imagine frames that above all, resemble to them. Their shifted and colored universe creates sensation very quickly on a creator segment, that they want accessible to everybody. Typified frames or more discrete models, by aim and touches all publics, without exception. Young or less young people, it does not matter, which count is to share the same merry philosophy of life. Collections in acetate metal or combined, more than 60 models available today that release authentic joy. This state of mind became very popular in France, by is nearly distributed in 2000 optical shops. The brand turns its glance now abroad and makes a beautiful breakthrough in other countries such as Scandinavia that has already been seduced by this fantasy or Australia, conquered by these exceptional and unusual products.
